9 Things You Won’t Want to Miss at EPCOT

EPCOT at Walt Disney World is where innovation meets imagination, and global culture comes alive in a park full of unique experiences. With its mix of futuristic attractions, world-class festivals, and delicious food from around the globe, it’s no wonder EPCOT is a fan favorite for thrill-seekers and foodies. Whether you’re spending a whole day here or hopping in for a few hours, here are 9 must-do experiences you won’t want to miss at EPCOT.

1. Ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Let’s kick things off with EPCOT’s newest and arguably most thrilling attraction: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This smooth, high-energy roller coaster features a backward launch, spinning ride vehicles, and an epic soundtrack.

Even if you’re not a Marvel Superfan, this ride is fun from start to finish—and definitely worth using your Lightning Lane Multi Pass for.

If that’s a bit adventurous for your style, head to The Land Pavilion for Soarin’ Around the World. This breathtaking flight simulator lifts you into the sky for a gentle glide over iconic global landmarks.

2. Stroll (and Snack) Around World Showcase

EPCOT’s World Showcase is like taking a trip around the world—no passport needed. With 11 unique pavilions representing countries like France, Japan, Mexico, and Morocco, it’s the perfect place to explore architecture, culture, and cuisine.

Grab a bite in each country and make your own “snack-around-the-world” adventure! If you have kids, look for the Kidcot Stations, where they can do a fun activity to learn about each country.

My favorite adventures include:

  • American Adventure Show in America (Hearing the Voices of Liberty is a bonus!)
  • Frozen Ever After water ride in Norway
  • Listening to the Oompah band and eating in Germany
  • Take photos at the fountain in France
  • Meet Donald Duck in his sombrero in Mexico
  • Feast on Fish & Chips at Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the United Kingdom
  • Listen to the live music at Canada Mill Stage in Canada

3. Catch the Nighttime Show “Luminous: The Symphony of Us”

End your day with EPCOT’s newest nighttime spectacular: Luminous: The Symphony of Us. This stunning lagoon show features music, fountains, lights, fireworks, and storytelling, celebrating the shared connections between people and cultures worldwide.

It’s an emotional and powerful grand finale to your visit.

4. Visit During a Festival

EPCOT is home to some of Disney’s best seasonal festivals, and no matter when you visit, there’s usually one in full swing. From Festival of the Arts (Jan–Feb) and International Flower & Garden (March- April- May) to Food & Wine (Fall) and Festival of the Holidays (Winter), each offers unique entertainment, themed food booths, and exclusive merchandise.

Be sure to pick up a passport on your way in so you can check off the things you do at the festival and have a cute souvenir. It also has great pictures and descriptions of the food and drinks.

5. Ride Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

Step into Chef Remy’s tiny shoes and scurry through Gusteau’s kitchen in Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. This charming 4D ride in the France Pavilion is perfect for families and full of clever effects.

It’s also a great reason to explore the expanded France area, including a creperie serving savory and sweet delights. Pro Tip: Once you cross the bridge into World Showcase, you can explore in either direction— turn right to reach Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.

6. Let the Kids Burn Off Energy at the Green Landing Family Play Zone

If you’re traveling with little ones, stop at the Green Landing Family Play Zone — a lesser-known gem near Mission: SPACE. This bright and colorful playground is themed around WALL•E and EVE, with fun space-themed play structures, shaded seating for parents, and plenty of room for kids to run, jump, and slide.

It’s the perfect spot to recharge while the kids enjoy some unstructured playtime.

7. Take a Ride on Spaceship Earth

No visit to EPCOT is complete without riding the iconic Spaceship Earth inside the park’s signature geodesic sphere. This slow-moving dark ride takes you on a journey through the history of human communication — from the prehistoric era and ancient civilizations to the invention of the printing press and the dawn of the computer age.

It’s a relaxing, educational, classic Disney experience perfect for all ages. The cool, dark interior offers a nice break from the Florida sun.

8. Sample Something Sweet from a Festival Booth or Bakery

Whether it’s a flaky croissant from Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie in France or a seasonal dessert from a festival kiosk, EPCOT is a haven for sweet tooths. Make sure to indulge in something unique—bonus points if it’s Instagram-worthy!

9. Meet Mickey & Friends at the Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival Pavilion

Want to meet the stars? You can often find Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and other favorites near the  Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival entrance, right next to Journey Into Imagination. This is an excellent place for autographs and photos—especially in their Epcot-ready outfits.

Keep your eyes open for a surprise pop-up photo op throughout the day.

EPCOT is more than just a theme park—it celebrates innovation, culture, and flavor. Whether you’re riding cutting-edge attractions, snacking through the World Showcase, or watching fireworks over the lagoon, there’s something unforgettable at every turn.
